Alessia è partita a novembre per Malta con un proggetto last minute dove vivrà per 12 mesi. Lavorerà presso l’associazione Centru Tbexbix e con i suoi bambini. Presso questa scuola tra le altre cose si insegna anche lo yoga! Alessia aiuterà gli insegnanti con le classi, aiuterà a portare avanti l’ amministrazione dell’associazione e avrà lo spazio di creare lezioni di teatro, musica, ballo o tutto quello che sceglie lei per spendere tempo creativo con i bambini. In bocca al lupo Alessia….

Report 1 – giugno 2013
La vita a Malta mi ha decisamente coinvolto, assorbito, rapito.
Abbiamo concluso da poco il Winter club con i bambini del centro.
E ora è tempo di riflessioni, conclusioni e giudizi inerenti al tempo trascorso con loro, stiamo scrivendo profili e facendo un po’ ordine inerente al lavoro invernale svolto.
Io sono stata insegnante di Italiano ai ragazzi dai 9 ai 13 anni, insegnante di inglese per i bimbi dai 4 ai 7 e insegnante di danza per la ragazzine del centro.
Ho aiutato anche nella organizzazione delle altre attività, ho partecipato a lezioni di atletica, sport and games, art and craft, clay.
Abbiamo portato i ragazzi in gita, preparando attività e cucinando per loro.
Durante quest’anno ho imparato ad amare la disciplina dello yoga. Il mercoledi mattina e il giovedi c’erano a disposizione due corsi di yoga per noi volontari.
Ho imparato a cucinare vegetariano e mi sono resa conto che un alimentazione senza carne è possibile.
Durante quest’anno ho imparato a comunicare in un’altra lingua, lo scoglio che inizialmente mi sembrava piu difficile.
Durante quest’anno ho amato tanto. Ho amato il mio progetto, ho amato i miei bambini, ho amato questa nuova famiglia, gli altri volontari. Ho amato quest’isola.
Da Luglio cominceremo il Summer Club con i bambini di Bormla. E questo è tempo anche di pianificazioni delle attività future.
Per quest’ estate abbiamo intenzione di mettere in scena un musical con i bambini del Summer Club. E io pianificherò i movimenti e la danza.
Collaboreremo con il figlio della nostra capa. E’ un musicista che insegna da due anni in una scuola a Londra che usualmente si ritrasferisce qui durante il periodo estivo.

In the beginning of March I decided to start some dance lessons in CentruTbexbix because I love to dance and I understood that a lot of girls at the center from 9 to 13 yslove it as well.
I’m not a dance teacher but in the past and also here in Malta I was attending some hip hop/street dance school and for me always it was a way to relax and enjoy a lot. I wondered to give the opportunity to these girls to have my same feeling of freedom and escape.
I decided to start the Dance Lesson on 7th March. I promoted the dance activity in the live-in in the beginning of March. The girls from 9 to 13 looked very excited and they promised me that they will come for the first lesson. I got almost 15 registrations.
On 7th March I was waiting my girls to start with this new activity. I was quite exited. But .. Nobody came. Just Jasmine (9 ys) who was in the center during the day for the other daily activities. I remember it was quite frustrating.
The next week I decided to call the girls by phone one by one to remember them our dance meeting.
On 14th March it was the first dance lesson in CentruTbexbix.Nine girls came to the center. All of them were very excited and I was so happy to teach them the first step of the choreography.
For sure it is not easy manage nine/ten teenager girls and try to teach them the same moves, teach them to listen the music and move properly and smile and enjoy in the same time. This age is also so difficult to manage. But it was really ok .. I remember some lesson very gratify ( other a little bit less J ).
For a dance course the most important thing is the frequency and this was hard to manage. The most of “my dance girls” are lazy and don’t so able to respect meeting and appointment regularly. Because they have school, homework, first love. Dance Class is free time and obviously everybody is free to choose own free time.
But in general it was good. I had every week a turnover of girls, so for this it was a problem prepare properly a real group of dance. But it was funny and the children that attend it they were very happy and they enjoy. And for me this was the main goal.
